What we collect (almost nothing)

Passage has no login, no email capture, and no advertising. It does not set cookies and shows no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.

Analytics

We measure whether people reach the end of the story, using privacy-first, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics, plus a small set of anonymous scene-level events). No personal data, no cross-site identifiers, no fingerprinting, and nothing that can identify you. We deliberately do not use Google Analytics.

The only events recorded are anonymous and product-shaped:

• experience_start — the page loaded
• scene_view — a scene scrolled into view
• citation_open — a source chip was expanded
• klamath_toggle — the dual-framing toggle was flipped
• fallback_shown — a reduced-motion or no-WebGL path was served
• experience_complete — the reckoning was reached

Live data

The live fish count is fetched from our own edge cache, which reads a daily snapshot of Columbia River DART. Your browser never contacts DART directly, and no request carries anything about you.

Third parties

Source links (to NOAA, WSDOT, the Wild Salmon Center, and others) leave this site; those organizations have their own privacy practices. Sharing a scene uses your device's native share sheet or a link to a social platform — we do not track the share.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing to request, correct, or delete. If you are a California resident exercising CCPA rights, the answer is the same: we do not sell or share personal information, because we do not collect it. Questions are welcome all the same.
